Pastor William has been married to his wife, Nakyelwe Sylvia, for 34 years, and they have 12 children. He was initially drawn to Christ by the example of his already-converted wife. In 2017, an unfortunate tragedy struck when his first-born son fell victim to a crocodile while fishing together to provide for the family. During this dark period, his resilience stemmed from the unwavering support of his church. Passionately, he recounts how his intimate connection with God became his primary focus amid adversity.
To date, he and his wife have planted nine churches together, each a testament to their unwavering passion and commitment to the spread of the gospel. His church on Bukwaya Island is a beacon of faith that has led to community transformation. Despite his successful progress, he laments his inability to find someone to disciple him in basic scripture training. He has been a pastor for 24 years and struggles to teach through many books of the Bible.
Ultimately, Pastor William wears two hats in his community-he is a pastor and serves as a local council chairperson. When he learned about the Rural Pastors Institute through fellow pastors on the island, he viewed it as a divine answer to his prayer for guidance and empowerment in God's work. As a leader, Pastor William longs for more but advanced biblical studies are beyond his grasp. Earning just $500 a year, he faces financial challenges that hinder his personal pursuit of further education; his income is barely enough to meet his family's basic needs, let alone pay for the type of training that RPI offers. By investing in his training at the Rural Pastors Institute, you will continue to equip Pastor William with a greater depth of biblical wisdom. Your sponsorship makes a significant difference in the lives of men like Pastor William, allowing them to receive foundational teaching and valuable leadership skills.
