Samson’s Story
Pastor Samson Mugabe first encountered the gospel while he was still at school, when a team of evangelists came and shared the gospel with the students. At the time, he was already serving in the Anglican Church, but the message he heard had a significant impact on him. He gave his life to Christ and began meeting with others every Wednesday for discipleship. Years later, Samson was set apart to become a pastor. One of the significant challenges he faced was finding a wife while serving in pastoral ministry. He also experienced the practical challenges that came with ministry and the responsibilities of providing for himself and his family. While serving in the Anglican Church, Samson received a percentage of the money collected as his salary. After becoming a committed follower of Christ, he chose to leave that arrangement behind and trust God as he continued to serve Him. He describes this as one of the major challenges of his journey, but also as an important step of faith. Samson is grateful for the opportunity to study at the Rural Pastors’ Institute. He sees the training as coming at an important time in his ministry and as an opportunity to grow in his understanding of God’s Word and become better equipped for pastoral service.
