Ronald’s Story

Pastor Ronald first heard the gospel at a young age, but during his teenage years, he walked away from the faith. Even then, whenever he saw someone preaching on the streets, he felt a deep conviction that he was meant to do the same. One day, a friend brought a phone to his home—unaware that it had been stolen. When authorities tracked the phone, both of them were arrested. After nearly two weeks in custody, he was released. Soon after, he met Pastor Taminwa, an RPI alumnus, who shared the gospel with him and encouraged him deeply. This marked a turning point, and Pastor Ronald gave his life fully to Christ.

He began serving actively in church, and during an evangelism outreach where many people came to faith, the team prayed for leadership for the coming year. He was chosen to step into that role.

Since then, he has faithfully led the church, often traveling over 15 kilometres each Sunday to reach his congregation—despite financial strain and the responsibility of providing for his family. He has also faced the challenge of uniting and guiding the congregation effectively.

Through his leadership journey, he has come to understand how easily a leader can misguide people without proper grounding in Scripture. This realization has created in him a deep desire to study God’s Word and be trained. However, his income from small-scale farming is not enough to support formal training. He longs for the opportunity to be equipped through RPI so he can faithfully lead and serve his community.

Training That Reaches Beyond the Classroom

In June 2026, RPI held a training week for pastors’ wives, including wives from the current cohort. In July, staff reported that pastors were encouraged by changes they observed in their homes after that training. This is a cohort-wide account and does not establish participation or outcomes for any particular pastor’s household.
