Paul’s Story

Born into deep poverty with a father struggling with alcoholism, Pastor Paul began working as a child to survive. But he was a bitter child. At one point, his anger toward born-again Christians led him to burn down a church.

However, during a village crusade, he encountered the gospel and gave his life to Christ. His transformation was evident, and he quickly became involved in various areas of ministry. When his pastor suddenly left, the church leadership unanimously asked him to step into the role of pastor. At the time, he had recently married his wife Monica, and together they now have two children.

The weight of leadership quickly became overwhelming. He realized that without proper guidance and training, he might also fail. Despite his efforts, many things did not work, and he recognized his need for help. When he learned about RPI, it gave him renewed hope. However, his income is unstable, and he lives day to day, making it impossible for him to fund the training himself.

Training That Reaches Beyond the Classroom

In June 2026, RPI held a training week for pastors’ wives, including wives from the current cohort. In July, staff reported that pastors were encouraged by changes they observed in their homes after that training. This is a cohort-wide account and does not establish participation or outcomes for any particular pastor’s household.
