Joseph’s Story

Raised in a family known for practicing witchcraft, Pastor Joseph once found himself consumed by a desire for violence. On one occasion, as he set out to harm someone, he had a powerful encounter—losing all strength and hearing the gospel message calling him to salvation. That moment marked the beginning of his transformation.

He later joined a church and served actively in evangelism. However, he eventually discovered that the group he had joined was actually a cult. During this time, he experienced deep personal betrayal when his pastor took his wife, with whom he had six children. This left him devastated, and for two years, he withdrew completely from prayer and ministry. Over time, he began to rebuild his life and faith. He remarried his current wife, Rebecca, and slowly returned to ministry.

Years later, he connected with Pastor Jesse, an RPI alumnus, and attended an RPI graduation. As he listened, he reflected on his past and realized how much could have been different if he had received proper biblical training. When the opportunity arose, he desired to enroll—but with an annual income of $150, it remains out of reach.

Training That Reaches Beyond the Classroom

In June 2026, RPI held a training week for pastors’ wives, including wives from the current cohort. In July, staff reported that pastors were encouraged by changes they observed in their homes after that training. This is a cohort-wide account and does not establish participation or outcomes for any particular pastor’s household.
