Charles’s Story

After a painful divorce, Pastor Charles encountered Christ—a turning point that led him to leave for the islands, where he met believers who shared the gospel with him. He began serving in various ministries until he was eventually sent to pastor a struggling church in a nearby village—one where previous pastors had not lasted more than a month.

His time there was marked by serious challenges. On one occasion, a guest preacher attempted to take over the church by arranging with the landlord to transfer ownership of the building to himself, temporarily displacing Pastor Charles. Despite this, he persevered, and the church remains standing today.

He later married his wife Jesca, who has faithfully stood by him for 17 years through every challenge. When he encountered pastors who had trained at RPI, he was deeply moved by the transformation in their lives and teaching. He longed to experience that same growth and depth. However, with an annual income of $300, he cannot afford the training.

Training That Reaches Beyond the Classroom

In June 2026, RPI held a training week for pastors’ wives, including wives from the current cohort. In July, staff reported that pastors were encouraged by changes they observed in their homes after that training. This is a cohort-wide account and does not establish participation or outcomes for any particular pastor’s household.
