Simon’s Story
Born into a family of witch doctors, Pastor Simon was being prepared to inherit his father’s role in the shrine. However, everything changed when he left home for work and encountered the gospel through his employers in 2019. He gave his life to Christ and began serving faithfully in a local church, eventually joining the evangelism and pastoral teams.
He has been married to his wife Harriet for 12 years, and together they have eight children.
Though later commissioned into pastoral ministry, he was never trained. Instead, he was left to lead without guidance. Despite being young and often despised and mocked, he remained steadfast. At one point, he mobilized the church to build a place of worship, moving them from gathering under a tree to a simple structure. Yet he faced a major limitation—he could not adequately teach because he had never been equipped. His leader even warned him against seeking any form of training, threatening to disown him if he did, while offering no support or mentorship.
After visiting a fellow pastor who had undergone RPI training, he saw a clear difference in how they understood and taught Scripture. Together with his wife, he made the decision to pursue training—but with no financial means to support it.
