Ben’s Story

While still in the Catholic Church, Pastor Ben began questioning why the miracles he read about in Scripture were not evident around him. This stirred a deep hunger to know Christ personally, and through radio preaching, he gave his life to the Lord.

Years later, while serving as an assistant pastor, he experienced deep betrayal when he discovered that his pastor was involved with his wife. When this became known, the pastor deliberately turned against him—using sermons, false accusations, and even legal charges in an attempt to force him out of the church. Week after week, he was publicly ridiculed, humiliated, and isolated for over a year.

Despite this intense pressure, Pastor Ben refused to abandon the church. Eventually, authorities intervened and advised a separation. It was the pastor who left—taking nearly everything and leaving behind only three chairs.

Two years later, his wife Irene returned in repentance. Today, they have three children, and the church is steadily growing again. Through it all, Pastor Ben remained because of his deep burden for the Church of Christ. His experience revealed to him the dangers of leading without sound teaching and discipleship. When he learned about RPI, he recognized it as the opportunity he had been longing for. However, with an annual income of just over $500, he is unable to support himself through the training.

Training That Reaches Beyond the Classroom

In June 2026, RPI held a training week for pastors’ wives, including wives from the current cohort. In July, staff reported that pastors were encouraged by changes they observed in their homes after that training. This is a cohort-wide account and does not establish participation or outcomes for any particular pastor’s household.
