Emmanuel’s Story
While searching for work in the city, Pastor Emmanuel began attending a small house church led by a police officer. Years later, after returning to his village, he experienced a strong call to pastoral ministry—confirmed by his leaders. Despite witnessing the hardships pastors faced, and initially resisting the call, he obeyed the voice of God.
Reaching his church requires a one-hour bicycle ride along rough, muddy roads. On one occasion, after heavy rains, the journey took over two hours as his bicycle repeatedly broke down. Yet he pressed on, encouraged by the sight of his congregation faithfully waiting for him—the heavy rains caused the church structure to collapse. Together, they rebuilt and continue to worship there.
Pastor Emmanuel has pastored for seven years. He and his wife Kirabo, married for eight years, have three children.
For years, he struggled, often repeating sermons he heard on the radio, knowing he lacked understanding. This stirred a deep desire to learn how to study Scripture and teach sound doctrine. With an annual income of $500, formal education was beyond reach. Together with his wife, they prayed daily—until they heard about RPI. He believes this is God’s answer to their prayers.
