John’s Story

The year 2006 marked both joy and hardship for Pastor John. It was the year he gave his life to Christ at a crusade— but it also brought intense persecution from his family, forcing him to flee and live on the streets for three years. Even there, God faithfully preserved him from destructive habits.

Eventually, he returned and began serving in a local church. However, new challenges arose. Early in ministry, he made difficult decisions, including entering marriage under financial strain, leaving him in debt. This deeply affected the church, causing many members to leave, and he found himself leading without support—even his spiritual leader departed. Since then, he has stood largely alone in ministry. Through it all, his wife Aisha has remained faithful. Together, they have been married for 11 years and are raising four children.

Recognizing that many of his struggles stemmed from a lack of training, Pastor John developed a deep desire to study God’s Word and understand sound doctrine. With an annual income of just $200, formal training seemed impossible—until he discovered RPI, which he believes is the answer to his long-standing prayer.

Training That Reaches Beyond the Classroom

In June 2026, RPI held a training week for pastors’ wives, including wives from the current cohort. In July, staff reported that pastors were encouraged by changes they observed in their homes after that training. This is a cohort-wide account and does not establish participation or outcomes for any particular pastor’s household.
