Sponsor NowPastor Michael serves a congregation in Matakokore, Pallisa, approximately 20 miles from his home. He has regularly traveled there by bicycle while his family remains at home. At the time of his testimony, he had served 19 years in ministry and had been married to Akia Alice for 25 years; they have seven children. Other pastors' departures from ministry challenged him, but he remained committed to his calling. He recognizes that passion alone is not enough to interpret and preach Scripture faithfully. As a farmer, he has limited resources for training and hopes RPI will help him grow.

RPI is exploring poultry raising as another practical way to connect vocational skills with discipleship. Learning how to care for chickens and manage a small poultry operation can help pastors explore sustainable income opportunities for their households.
An RPI mission team helped build the chicken coop pictured below. Projects like this can provide a setting for future hands-on instruction, with the goal of helping rural pastors support their families while continuing to serve their churches.

RPI's goat project is one way we connect practical vocational learning with our long-term commitment to rural pastors. Goat raising and livestock management can offer pastors skills to explore ways of providing for their families while continuing to serve their congregations.
Through the Vocational / Sustainability / Discipleship Program, RPI seeks to pair ongoing discipleship with practical training that can help pastors build more stable livelihoods. The goal is not to replace biblical teaching, but to help reduce financial pressures that can make rural ministry difficult.
The goat project illustrates the practical sustainability opportunities within RPI’s program; individual students' involvement with the goat project has not been confirmed.

RPI's relationship with pastors continues beyond their initial biblical training. Through ongoing discipleship, encouragement, follow-up, and opportunities for practical sustainability training, participating pastors can continue growing as leaders while working toward stronger families, churches, and ministries.
