Sponsor NowPastor Stephen Olowo has faced both loss and significant responsibility in his life and ministry. After losing his first wife to illness, he later married Kusasirwa Sarah. His family includes seven children.
In an effort to provide for his family, Stephen relocated to another island, where he accepted a call to serve a congregation on Malijja Island. His ministry has involved the challenges of traveling by small boat, sometimes over difficult waters, to reach the people he serves. The island's fishing-centered community also presents unique challenges, as families move in search of their livelihoods.
Stephen's background includes farming as a way of helping support his family. He sought biblical training through RPI because he wanted to teach Scripture more faithfully and serve his congregation with greater understanding. His story reflects the importance of both sound biblical education and practical ways for rural pastors to provide for their families.

In September 2026, Pastor Stephen Olowo was among 20 RPI pastors and their wives who completed entrepreneurship training in partnership with Ekisinga. His training certificate confirms his participation. The training provided practical instruction designed to help families develop sustainable sources of income while pastors continue serving their churches and communities.
The pastors also toured RPI’s goat project as they prepared for future hands-on training. This is a program-wide activity; Stephen's individual participation in the goat-project tour has not been separately verified.
Alongside vocational development, RPI continues providing discipleship, follow-up, encouragement, and practical training for graduate pastors as they apply what they have learned within their families, churches, and communities.

RPI’s goat project is one way we connect practical vocational learning with our long-term commitment to rural pastors. Goat raising and livestock management can offer pastors skills to explore ways of providing for their families while continuing to serve their congregations.
Through the Vocational / Sustainability / Discipleship Program, RPI seeks to pair ongoing discipleship with practical training that can help pastors build more stable livelihoods. The goal is not to replace biblical teaching, but to help reduce financial pressures that can make rural ministry difficult.
The goat project illustrates the practical sustainability opportunities within RPI’s program. Stephen’s individual involvement with the goat project has not been confirmed.

RPI's relationship with pastors continues beyond their initial biblical training. Through ongoing discipleship, encouragement, follow-up, and opportunities for practical sustainability training, participating pastors can continue growing as leaders while working toward stronger families, churches, and ministries.
