PRAY WITH PASTOR DAVID KISAMBIRA

Prayer Requests

Servant Leadership: Pray that David will continue to lead his congregation with a humble, servant-hearted attitude.

Spiritual Gifts: Pray for wisdom and maturity as he seeks to use his prophetic gift faithfully in ministry.

Family Health: Pray for healing, strength, and provision for Annet, who has struggled with chronic back pain, and for their children living with sickle cell disease.

Continued Growth: Give thanks for the biblical teaching that has strengthened David and for the encouragement Annet received through pastors' wives training.

David's Story

Pastor David and his wife Balisanyuka Annet have experienced profound loss: six of their ten children died through illness, stillbirth, or miscarriage. Their grief and family circumstances strained their marriage, and they lived apart for four years before reconciling. David has worked in village drainage channels and seasonal farming to provide for his four surviving children. He described himself as a 'Laborer in the Lord’s harvest.' At the time of his testimony he had served in pastoral ministry for 16 years on Buvuma Island. He longs for biblical education that he has been unable to afford.

Following His Journey

In an August 2024 update, David and Annet shared both ongoing family challenges and gratitude for their training. David had experienced a fractured leg, while Annet was dealing with chronic back pain. Three of their four surviving children were living with sickle cell disease. Despite these difficulties, David shared how much he had benefited from RPI's teaching on Bible interpretation, and Annet described how the pastors' wives training had strengthened her understanding of ministry and supporting her husband. Please continue praying for their family's health, provision, and faithful service.

VOCATIONAL SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability in Uganda

RPI's Vocational / Sustainability / Discipleship Program supports practical skills development alongside ongoing biblical discipleship. Agricultural and livestock projects offer opportunities to strengthen household sustainability and encourage long-term ministry.

WHAT’S HAPPENING IN THE PROGRAM

Vocational / Sustainability / Discipleship Update

In September 2026, 20 RPI pastors and their wives completed entrepreneurship training in partnership with Ekisiga. The training provided practical instruction designed to help families develop sustainable sources of income while pastors continue faithfully serving their churches and communities.

The pastors also toured RPI’s goat project as they prepare for future hands-on training. The project is one of the practical ways RPI is exploring opportunities that can help pastors and their families strengthen household sustainability.

Alongside vocational development, RPI continues providing discipleship, follow-up, encouragement, and practical training for graduate pastors as they apply what they have learned within their families, churches, and communities.
