Sponsor NowCharles's Story
Pastor Charles came from an Anglican background and planted a church with the encouragement of a mentor. He faced threats from traditional spiritual practitioners but sought peaceful relationships with those who opposed him. He endured a painful separation from his first wife and found support from members of his community. He later married Chelsea; at the time of his testimony they had been together eight years. He had served 27 years in pastoral ministry, led a congregation on Buvuma Island, and planted nine other churches. As a fisherman and farmer, he has had limited access to formal biblical training.
Historical testimony: personal ages, marriage durations, income, and congregation figures reflect the original source and have not been independently reverified for 2026.

Sustainability in Uganda
RPI’s Vocational / Sustainability / Discipleship Program supports practical skills development alongside ongoing biblical discipleship. Agriculture and livestock projects offer opportunities to strengthen household sustainability and encourage long-term ministry.
Vocational / Sustainability / Discipleship Update
In September 2026, 20 RPI pastors and their wives completed entrepreneurship training in partnership with Ekisiga. The training provided practical instruction designed to help families develop sustainable sources of income while pastors continue faithfully serving their churches and communities.
The pastors also toured RPI’s goat project as they prepare for future hands-on training. The project is one of the practical ways RPI is exploring opportunities that can help pastors and their families strengthen household sustainability.
Alongside vocational development, RPI continues providing discipleship, follow-up, encouragement, and practical training for graduate pastors as they apply what they have learned within their families, churches, and communities.
