Sponsor NowPastor Richard Mugabi grew up under a restrictive religious belief system introduced by his biological father. The rules prohibited activities such as dancing and playing soccer and even regulated how he walked. Longing for freedom from these restrictions, he searched for truth. In 2010, he came to faith in Christ.
Pastor Richard has served as a pastor in the Buyende District for four years. He and his wife, Nazziwa Ruth, have been married for eight years and have four children. He is committed to caring for his family while faithfully serving the people in his ministry.
Richard supports his family through small-scale farming, earning approximately $300 a year. With such limited resources, formal theological education has been beyond his reach. His educational background has also made it difficult to qualify for many Bible school programs.
He recognizes the importance of growing in biblical knowledge and pastoral leadership. Although he already serves as a pastor, Richard humbly acknowledges areas where he needs further teaching and guidance to shepherd his congregation well.
Through RPI, Pastor Richard has an opportunity to receive biblical instruction, discipleship, and practical vocational training that he could not otherwise afford. This investment helps equip him to care for his family, strengthen his leadership, and serve his community with greater understanding of God’s Word.

Pastor Richard Mugabi was among a group of 20 pastors who completed entrepreneurship training, alongside pastors’ wives, through a partnership between RPI and Ekisinga Ministries. The training concluded with a celebration and the presentation of certificates from Ekisinga Ministries.
RPI also welcomed the group for a tour of its goat project. None of the participants had previously visited the farm, and they expressed excitement about the opportunity to return for future training there.
RPI’s vision extends beyond a pastor’s first year of biblical training. Through continued discipleship and practical vocational instruction, RPI seeks to help pastors strengthen their ability to provide for their families while serving their churches and communities.
Practical sustainability efforts are intended to complement, not replace, biblical teaching. They help pastors pursue more stable livelihoods and greater independence as they continue faithfully in ministry.

RPI’s relationship with pastors continues beyond their initial biblical training. Through ongoing discipleship, encouragement, follow-up, continued learning, and practical sustainability training, pastors can continue growing as leaders while working toward stronger families, churches, and ministries.
