Sponsor NowIn September 2026, 20 RPI pastors and their wives completed entrepreneurship training in partnership with Ekisinga. The training provided practical instruction designed to help families develop sustainable sources of income while pastors continue faithfully serving their churches and communities.
The pastors also toured RPI's goat project as they prepare for future hands-on training. The project is one of the practical ways RPI is exploring opportunities to help pastors and their families strengthen household sustainability.
Alongside vocational development, RPI continues providing discipleship, follow-up, encouragement, and practical training for graduate pastors as they apply what they have learned within their families, churches, and communities.
Born in 1970, Pastor Julius leads Salvation Centre Church. He surrendered his life to Christ in 1998 and has pastored his church since 2018. Married to Kwagala Marion for 34 years, they have 14 children.
His early life was marked by loss when his father died at age three. Raised by his mother, a devoted church member, he was brought to church every Sunday. It was during one of those services that he gave his life to Christ. Later, he became a police officer and was deployed to Buvuma Island. After retiring, he chose to remain and continued serving in the local church until his commissioning into ministry.
In 2022, his life was shaken by the sudden loss of his wife. She collapsed on the roadside while returning from the market and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. Her unexpected death devastated Pastor Julius and deeply affected the church. She had been a committed gospel sharer, and her absence left a void many struggled to fill—causing many congregants to leave. Some community members suspected Pastor Julius was involved in his wife’s death, attributing it to spiritual causes. Ministry on Buvuma Island is already challenging; the frequent movement of residents makes discipleship difficult, and this new suspicion further diminished the congregation, with some even leaving silently.
Struggling with grief, rejection, and a shrinking church, Pastor Julius was unsure how to move forward. He learned about the Rural Pastors Institute and after visiting, said, “Through all the challenges I have faced, this is what I needed. I am ready to go all the way now!”
Pastor Julius is driven by a deep desire to serve Jesus and impact his community. His church’s vision is to equip Christians with the gospel and empower them to disciple others. He desires to pursue training, reconnect with the foundational teachings of the apostles, and equip others to do the same.
Unfortunately, with little to no income, he cannot afford the training he desperately desires. Your support enables Pastor Julius to receive the biblical training necessary to rebuild his ministry and continue faithfully serving his community.

RPI's goat project is one of the practical ways we are developing our Vocational / Sustainability / Discipleship Program. Through raising and caring for goats, we are creating opportunities for pastors to learn valuable agricultural skills that can help them better provide for their families.
The project continues to grow, with new baby goats being born at RPI! As the herd grows, so does the potential for this project to benefit more pastors and their families.
Our goal is to equip pastors with practical knowledge and sustainable opportunities that can strengthen their families and communities while allowing them to continue faithfully serving in ministry.

RPI's relationship with pastors continues beyond their initial biblical training. Through ongoing discipleship, encouragement, follow-up, continued learning, and practical sustainability training, pastors like Julius can continue growing as leaders while working toward stronger families, churches, and ministries.
