Sponsor NowPastor Paul was born in 1981 and raised in a Catholic home. His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother later moved him from his father's home to begin a new life on the islands.
At age 16, while visiting a friend, Paul was invited into a conversation with a pastor. He felt deeply convicted and gave his life to Christ in 1997. In May 2000, he began serving in pastoral ministry when he was sent to co-lead a church with a friend.
Paul experienced profound personal loss during his first marriage. After one of their two children died, his wife disappeared with their surviving child while he was attending the burial. He searched for them but could not find them. Years later, he learned she had remarried. Through this painful season, Paul remained committed to his faith and calling.
Seven years later, Paul married Baisi Matilda. They have six children together and, at the time his testimony was recorded, had been married for 19 years. He now leads a church in Mpolwe Cells on Bugabo-Buvuma Island, with a vision to make disciples who will reach others with the gospel of Christ.
Paul desires to grow in his knowledge of God's Word and become better equipped to disciple others. Though his annual income is uncertain, he remains committed to serving his congregation. Through RPI's Vocational / Sustainability / Discipleship Program, pastors like Paul can continue growing in biblical understanding, family discipleship, leadership, and practical sustainability.

Pastor Paul began serving in ministry in May 2000 and continues leading his church on Buvuma Island with a desire to make disciples who will share the gospel. Through difficult personal seasons, he has remained committed to his faith and pastoral calling.
As Paul continues in RPI's Vocational / Sustainability / Discipleship Program, our prayer is that ongoing biblical learning, discipleship, and practical sustainability training will strengthen his family and ministry. We look forward to sharing specific updates from Paul as they become available.
In September 2026, RPI pastors and their wives completed entrepreneurship training in partnership with Ekisinga. This practical instruction was designed to help families explore sustainable sources of income while pastors continue serving their churches and communities.
RPI is also developing its goat project as an opportunity for future hands-on agricultural training. Together with ongoing biblical discipleship and follow-up, these efforts reflect RPI's goal of strengthening pastors and their families spiritually and practically.
These are program-wide updates and are not presented as Paul's personal activities.
RPI’s relationship with pastors continues beyond initial biblical training through ongoing discipleship, encouragement, follow-up, continued learning, and practical sustainability training. As Pastor Paul participates in the Vocational / Sustainability / Discipleship Program, RPI seeks to strengthen families, churches, and ministries.
RPI's goat project is one way we connect practical vocational learning with our long-term commitment to rural pastors. Goat raising and livestock management can offer pastors skills to explore ways of providing for their families while continuing to serve their congregations.
Through the Vocational / Sustainability / Discipleship Program, RPI seeks to pair ongoing discipleship with practical training that can help pastors build more stable livelihoods. The goal is not to replace biblical teaching, but to help reduce financial pressures that can make rural ministry difficult.
The goat project illustrates the practical sustainability opportunities within RPI’s program; Paul’s individual involvement with the goat project has not been confirmed.
