Patrick's Story

Born in 1965, Pastor Patrick heard the gospel many times throughout his life, but it was the faithful witness of his own brother that finally led him to surrender his life to Christ in 2001. Since then, he has served with unwavering commitment, becoming a pastor in 2009. Pastor Patrick planted a church in a school compound with only three members, including himself and his wife.

Those early days were marked by hardship. The community mocked them and called them a cult. But with steadfast faith and a servant’s heart, they persevered. What began so humbly has grown into a thriving church with its own land and a permanent structure, a testimony to God's faithfulness through their obedience.

Patrick and his wife, Tebawayika Edisa, have been married for 30 years and are blessed with four children. He came to RPI eager to grow, saying, “This is an opportunity to return to the true foundation of the gospel. I look forward to learning and growing.” He desires to deepen his understanding of ministry and sharpen his skills to further God's work both in his church and in his community.

His vision is clear: to win people to Christ, disciple them into faithful servants of God, and support their growth toward spiritual and practical wholeness.

Though his annual income is just $850, Pastor Patrick continues to trust God for provision as he serves faithfully. Pastor Patrick could never afford the type of education and training that the Rural Pastors Institute offers, but your support enables men like him to pursue strong biblical training, equipping them to lead with wisdom, courage, and grace.

Thank you for being a Pastoral Sponsor at Rural Pastors International.

WHAT’S HAPPENING IN THE PROGRAM

RPI’s Goat Project: Practical Skills for Sustainable Ministry

RPI's goat project is one way we connect practical vocational learning with our long-term commitment to rural pastors. Goat raising and livestock management can offer pastors skills to explore ways of providing for their families while continuing to serve their congregations.

Through the Vocational / Sustainability / Discipleship Program, RPI seeks to pair ongoing discipleship with practical training that can help pastors build more stable livelihoods. The goal is not to replace biblical teaching, but to help reduce financial pressures that can make rural ministry difficult.

The goat project illustrates the practical sustainability opportunities within RPI’s program; Patrick’s individual involvement with the goat project has not been confirmed.

Pastor Patrick is part of the Vocational / Sustainability / Discipleship Program, which continues equipping pastors for long-term ministry.
