Sponsor NowPastor Aggrey Kasooma was born in 1987 and raised by his father, who was a witch doctor. Although his father practiced traditional beliefs, he allowed his children to attend Sunday services at a nearby church. Later, Aggrey was taken in by his grandparents, who nurtured his spiritual growth. He gave his life to Christ in 2003.
In 2008, Aggrey began serving as a youth pastor and later became a co-pastor. When his co-pastor disappeared with the church’s finances and building materials, Aggrey was deeply wounded. Nevertheless, he persevered and rebuilt his ministry. Today, he shepherds a small congregation of seven.
Churches in his village rarely collaborate, and Aggrey often feels isolated in ministry. In 2022, he was commissioned to lead the Center for Evangelism, seeking to deepen believers’ knowledge of God and raise self-sustaining Christians.
When he learned about RPI, Aggrey recognized an opportunity to grow in biblical understanding and pastoral leadership. He appreciates the careful attention to detail in RPI’s training and is eager to continue learning how to serve effectively.
Aggrey has been married to Tibalwa Irene since 2021, and they have one child. Alongside his pastoral ministry, he works as a primary school teacher, earning approximately $1,142 annually.
With his limited income, this level of biblical training would be difficult to afford independently. Support for RPI’s pastoral education program helps make this training possible, equipping pastors like Aggrey to teach, lead, and serve with wisdom and effectiveness.

In September 2026, 20 RPI pastors and their wives completed entrepreneurship training in partnership with Ekisinga. The training provided practical instruction designed to help families develop sustainable sources of income while pastors continue faithfully serving their churches and communities.
The pastors also toured RPI's goat project as they prepare for future hands-on training. The project is one of the practical ways RPI is exploring opportunities that can help pastors and their families strengthen household sustainability.
Alongside vocational development, RPI continues providing discipleship, follow-up, encouragement, and practical training for graduate pastors as they apply what they have learned within their families, churches, and communities.
RPI's Vocational / Sustainability / Discipleship Program helps rural pastors explore practical ways to provide for their families while continuing to serve their churches. This summer, the sustainability program received an exciting upgrade when a visiting mission team serving with RPI Missions helped build a new chicken coop at RPI's demonstration farm. The new coop adds to the hands-on resources available as RPI encourages pastors in practical skills and long-term sustainability.
RPI's relationship with pastors continues beyond their initial biblical training. Through ongoing discipleship, encouragement, follow-up, continued learning, and practical sustainability training, pastors like Aggrey can continue growing as leaders while working toward stronger families, churches, and ministries.
