PROGRAM UPDATE DETAILS (PUD)

Vocational / Sustainability / Discipleship Update

In September 2026, 20 RPI pastors and their wives completed entrepreneurship training in partnership with Ekisinga. The training provided practical instruction designed to help families develop sustainable sources of income while pastors continue faithfully serving their churches and communities.

The pastors also toured RPI's goat project as they prepare for future hands-on training. The project is one of the practical ways RPI is exploring opportunities that can help pastors and their families strengthen household sustainability.

Alongside vocational development, RPI continues providing discipleship, follow-up, encouragement, and practical training for graduate pastors as they apply what they have learned within their families, churches, and communities.

RPI's Growing Goat Project

RPI's goat project is one of the practical ways we are developing our Vocational / Sustainability / Discipleship Program. Through raising and caring for goats, we are creating opportunities for pastors to learn valuable agricultural skills that can help them better provide for their families.

The project continues to grow, with new baby goats being born at RPI! As the herd grows, so does the potential for this project to benefit more pastors and their families.

Our goal is to equip pastors with practical knowledge and sustainable opportunities that can strengthen their families and communities while allowing them to continue faithfully serving in ministry.

RPI's relationship with pastors continues beyond their initial biblical training. Through ongoing discipleship, encouragement, follow-up, continued learning, and practical sustainability training, pastors like Zadok can continue growing as leaders while working toward stronger families, churches, and ministries.

Zadok's Story

Born in 1978 into an Anglican family, Pastor Zadok was introduced to the Word of God early in life and quickly developed a deep passion for it. That foundation grew into a full commitment to ministry. He gave his life to Christ 28 years ago and has served as a pastor since 2014. Today, he leads Trumpet Ache Ministries Uganda (TAMU)—a church that began in his own home.

Married to Esther Naigaga for 11 years, they are blessed with five children. Though Pastor Zadok holds a diploma in building, construction, and civil engineering, he still earns only about $600 a year. Even so, he continues to trust God as he pours himself into both family and ministry.

His church is located in a spiritually difficult environment, surrounded by over nine shrines and a strong Muslim presence that has shaped much of the community’s mindset. Yet Pastor Zadok boldly testifies that their very survival and continued presence is living proof of God’s power and faithfulness.

Burdened to reach his community with the gospel, Pastor Zadok recognizes the need for deeper training and practical tools for outreach. He sees the Rural Pastors Institute as a God-given opportunity—not only to become more fruitful in ministry, but to also receive personal discipleship through the Word of God, something he once thought was out of reach due to his circumstances.

He views this training as vital to his growth in God’s Word and leadership, aiming for lasting transformation in his personal life, family, church, and the wider community. His vision is simple and powerful: to touch one soul at a time, leading them to Christ and into God’s eternal kingdom to inherit the promise of heaven.

Your sponsorship is what makes this kind of life-changing training possible—equipping pastors like Pastor Zadok to serve faithfully, grow deeply, and bring the light of Christ into spiritually dark places.

Graduation day at the Rural Pastors Institute is a special celebration! For pastors like Zadok, it marks the completion of an important season of biblical training, personal growth, and preparation for continued ministry.

At RPI, caring for pastors goes beyond classroom instruction. When pastors come to the training facility, they are welcomed with nourishing meals, comfortable accommodations, and an environment where they can rest, learn, and be encouraged.

In fact, one of Pastor Zadok's fellow classmates described the meals with great appreciation, mentioning fresh fruit, tea, fish, meat, and well-balanced food throughout his stay. These practical expressions of hospitality are part of how RPI seeks to honor and encourage the men who faithfully serve rural communities.

Graduation day brings an especially joyful celebration, complete with a wonderful feast as pastors, families, and friends gather to recognize what God has accomplished.

Your sponsorship helps make experiences like these possible, providing not only biblical education but also the care and encouragement that strengthen pastors for the work ahead.
