Equipping Pastors.

Helping rural Ugandan pastors develop practical skills, provide for their families, and faithfully serve their churches.

RPI’s first chicken project with some of the pastors’ wives.

After graduating from Year One Pastoral Training, pastors gain access to RPI’s Vocational / Sustainability / Discipleship Program.

Every pastor and community is different, so we help graduates develop practical plans based on their skills and local opportunities. This might include goat husbandry, farming, poultry, boda boda repair, hairdressing, or other small businesses.

The goal is simple: help pastors provide for their families while faithfully serving their churches without dependence on outside support.

Graduates also receive ongoing discipleship and regional support as they continue growing and applying their training within their local communities.

ABOUT THIS PROGRAM

Vocational / Sustainability / Discipleship

Many rural pastors serve churches that are unable to provide enough income to support a pastor and his family. RPI's Vocational / Sustainability / Discipleship Program helps pastors develop practical skills, pursue sustainable sources of income, and continue growing through discipleship as they faithfully serve their churches and communities.

What the Program Looks Like

After completing Year One Pastoral Training, pastors have the opportunity to continue with RPI through practical vocational training, sustainability development, and ongoing discipleship.

Rather than assuming the same solution will work for every pastor, RPI looks at the skills, resources, family needs, and opportunities available within each pastor's local community. Vocational possibilities may include agriculture, goat husbandry, poultry, repair work, hairdressing, or other locally appropriate small businesses.

Agriculture and farming are especially valuable in rural Uganda because the skills pastors learn can be used within their own villages and shared with their families and communities. The emphasis is not simply on providing something to a pastor, but on helping him develop knowledge and skills that can continue producing long-term benefit.

Throughout the program, pastors also continue in discipleship and relationship with RPI. The goal is to help pastors strengthen their ability to provide for their families while remaining faithful to the churches and communities God has called them to serve.

THIS YEAR IN ACTION

Building Skills That Can Grow

Throughout this year, pastors and their families have continued putting vocational and sustainability principles into practice. Poultry projects are growing, pastors are learning through goat husbandry, and families are applying agricultural skills within their own communities.

One poultry project that began with approximately 50 chickens has been working toward growing to 500. RPI's goat project has also reached an important milestone with the first RPI-born goat being given to a pastor's family, helping demonstrate how a project can reproduce and continue benefiting additional families.

RPI has also continued developing its demonstration farm with goats, local chickens, matooke, and a village house. The purpose is practical: pastors can see and learn approaches that make sense within the same rural setting where they and their congregations live.

Entrepreneurship and Kingdom Business training are also helping pastors and their wives think intentionally about business, stewardship, and sustainable income. These lessons are designed to move beyond the classroom as pastors take what they learn home and put it into practice.

The goal is long-term sustainability—equipping pastors with practical knowledge and skills that can strengthen their families, ministries, and communities for years to come.

Why Monthly Giving Matters

RPI depends on recurring monthly sponsorship support to keep our pastoral training programs running. Our goal is to eventually have our training operations fully funded through committed monthly supporters, allowing general donations to focus more on infrastructure and program growth.

Until that goal is reached, general donations help fill gaps in operational funding. 100% of sponsorship contributions go directly toward funding the operational needs of our training programs, while general donations help meet various needs across the ministry.
