Equipping rural Ugandan pastors through biblical training, discipleship, and practical ministry leadership.
The cornerstone of Rural Pastors International is our Biblical Pastoral Leadership Training. Pastors commit to a year of intentional growth through pastoral, theological, and practical ministry training designed specifically for the realities of rural ministry.
This first year marks the beginning of a deeper journey of discipleship with RPI—equipping pastors not only with knowledge, but with tools to faithfully lead their churches, families, and communities.
We also recognize that ministry impacts the whole family. Throughout the year, pastors’ wives are given multiple opportunities to learn, grow, and be equipped alongside their husbands.

The pastors you've met above are part of a much larger pastoral training program. RPI typically trains approximately 18 pastors at a time, at a current cost of approximately $250 per pastor each month. That represents an overall training need of approximately $4,500 each month, or $54,000 per year.
Your recurring monthly investment supports the Biblical Pastoral Leadership Training Program as a whole, rather than providing financial support directly to an individual pastor. You can follow the pastors’ training, learn about their ministries, encourage them, and pray for them throughout the program.
Your recurring monthly investment helps fund Biblical Pastoral Leadership Training for the group of pastors, not direct payments to any one pastor. You can follow their progress, learn about their ministries, and pray for them throughout their training.
Pastors accepted into RPI's Biblical Pastoral Leadership Training come ready to learn and grow. Through biblical instruction, practical ministry training, fellowship, and discipleship, they spend the year building a stronger foundation for their churches, families, and ministries.
Pastors are selected through an application and interview process before entering the program. Once accepted, they begin an intentional year of biblical and pastoral training designed for the realities of ministry in rural Uganda.
Throughout the year, pastors study topics such as biblical doctrine, ministry and family relationships, systematic theology, and the interpretation of Scripture. The training combines Ugandan and American instruction, providing pastors with biblical teaching while keeping their training connected to the culture and realities in which they serve.
During training sessions, pastors live together in a dormitory setting. This gives them an opportunity not only to study, but also to build friendships, share ministry experiences, worship together, and encourage one another as fellow pastors.
At the end of Year One, pastors graduate from the academic portion of the program and continue into a two-year training program designed to build upon the foundation established during their first year.
This year's Biblical Pastoral Leadership Training continues to be about much more than classroom instruction. As pastors come together for training, they are also building relationships with other pastors who understand the realities and challenges of rural ministry.
During one training session this year, pastors arrived carrying some very real personal burdens. One was recovering from surgery, another had recently walked through the loss of a child through miscarriage, and another attended with a fractured leg. Yet they still came together to learn, worship, encourage one another, and grow in their calling as pastors.
This is one of the things we love about the first year of the program—it gives rural pastors a place to be equipped in God's Word while also finding fellowship and encouragement from other pastors walking alongside them.
RPI depends on recurring monthly sponsorship support to keep our pastoral training programs running. Our goal is to eventually have our training operations fully funded through committed monthly supporters, allowing general donations to focus more on infrastructure and program growth.
Until that goal is reached, general donations help fill gaps in operational funding. 100% of sponsorship contributions go directly toward funding the operational needs of our training programs, while general donations help meet various needs across the ministry.
