Sponsor NowPeter's Story
Born in 1983, Pastor Peter is a Kenyan who lost his entire family. Devastated and searching for comfort, he became involved with cocaine groups and gangs, but found no lasting peace. When he attempted to trace his family roots, relatives who viewed him as an heir to his father's property threatened his life. He fled to Buvuma Island, where his despair became so deep that he contemplated ending his life.
At that critical time, a man shared the gospel with Peter. One message stayed with him: “God is a Father, and in Him, you will have many brothers and sisters.” Longing for family and belonging, Peter surrendered his life to Christ in 2003.
Pastor Peter has served as a pastor since 2021. He married Mirembe Esther in 2011, and together they have five children. His vision is to reach the lost and brokenhearted with the transforming power of the gospel.
At first, Peter sought ministry training because he had heard that churches without accreditation might be closed. But when two young men from his congregation returned from studies in the city and challenged his biblical understanding, he recognized how much he still needed to learn. An opportunity to visit RPI gave him a place to grow in biblical knowledge for the sake of both himself and his congregation.
Formerly a fisherman, Pastor Peter suffered a serious back injury while fishing, significantly affecting his income. RPI's biblical training offers pastors like Peter an opportunity to strengthen their understanding of Scripture and develop the leadership skills needed to serve their churches faithfully. Your support helps make this education possible.

Continuing His Training: Vocational Sustainability & Discipleship
Completing Year One biblical leadership training is an important milestone, but RPI's commitment to rural pastors extends beyond graduation.
Through the Vocational / Sustainability / Discipleship Program, RPI continues walking alongside pastors as they deepen their understanding of Scripture, grow in discipleship, and develop practical skills to help support their families and ministries.
For pastors facing financial hardship, continued training can help them explore sustainable livelihoods while remaining faithful to their calling. RPI's goal is to equip pastors spiritually and practically for long-term ministry.
This photograph illustrates the biblical training graduation milestone that precedes continued vocational and discipleship training; it does not establish Peter’s individual graduation.
More Than a Training Program
RPI’s relationship with pastors continues beyond initial biblical training through ongoing discipleship, encouragement, follow-up, continued learning, and practical sustainability training. As Pastor Peter participates in the Vocational / Sustainability / Discipleship Program, RPI seeks to strengthen families, churches, and ministries.
