Pastor Taminwa Wilberforce and his wife, Elivaida, are from Balawuli Village in Eastern Uganda. Wilberforce was among an early group of rural pastors who received training in Pastoral Ministry and Sustainability at RPI’s training facility in Jinja.
When RPI first came to know Pastor Wilberforce through Pastor Sosan, he stood out as an energetic and attentive servant leader. He welcomed visiting ministry teams and worked hard to make them comfortable.
Pastor Wilberforce and Elivaida have six children. Over many years of pastoral ministry, he has planted churches and helped shepherd and encourage other rural pastors, with a particular desire to see them become firmly rooted in Scripture.
Reflecting on his journey of faith, Pastor Wilberforce shared: “Prior to coming to know the Lord, I was a traditional spiritualist … a contact between my clan’s ancestral spirits and my tribal people. This is one of my greatest regrets, that it was time wasted in the dark. Since coming to the Lord in 1985, I have faithfully served my God. Today I am a pastor of pastors.”
Pastor Wilberforce has expressed a deep desire to finish his ministry faithfully. His limited formal schooling and the barriers rural pastors face in accessing traditional Bible education underscore the importance of practical, accessible pastoral training. His heart has been to strengthen fellow pastors in biblical understanding while continuing to serve his community.

Pastor Taminwa Wilberforce is thankful for his family and for the encouragement he has received through visits from RPI teams. He has been passionate about discipling younger pastors and desires continued encouragement and support as he helps strengthen them in their ministries.
Wilberforce has also been working toward developing a piggery project to help support his family. Financial pressures, family educational expenses, and challenges finding reliable markets have made this difficult. The project reflects his desire to build a more sustainable livelihood while continuing in ministry.
Pastor: Taminwa Wilberforce
Program: Vocational / Sustainability / Discipleship

RPI continues to encourage and equip rural pastors through biblical discipleship, practical sustainability training, and ongoing relationships. New personal updates about Pastor Taminwa Wilberforce will be shared when verified.
In September 2026, 20 RPI pastors and their wives completed entrepreneurship training in partnership with Ekisinga. The training provided practical instruction designed to help families develop sustainable sources of income while pastors continue faithfully serving their churches and communities.
The pastors also toured RPI's goat project as they prepare for future hands-on training. The project is one of the practical ways RPI is exploring opportunities that can help pastors and their families strengthen household sustainability.
Alongside vocational development, RPI continues providing discipleship, follow-up, encouragement, and practical training for graduate pastors as they apply what they have learned within their families, churches, and communities.
RPI's goat project is one way we connect practical vocational learning with our long-term commitment to rural pastors. Goat raising and livestock management can offer pastors skills to explore ways of providing for their families while continuing to serve their congregations.
Through the Vocational / Sustainability / Discipleship Program, RPI seeks to pair ongoing discipleship with practical training that can help pastors build more stable livelihoods. The goal is not to replace biblical teaching, but to help reduce financial pressures that can make rural ministry difficult.
The goat project illustrates practical sustainability opportunities within RPI’s program; Pastor Wilberforce’s individual involvement with the goat project has not been confirmed.

RPI's relationship with pastors continues beyond their initial biblical training. Through ongoing discipleship, encouragement, follow-up, and opportunities for practical sustainability training, participating pastors can continue growing as leaders while working toward stronger families, churches, and ministries.
